TSA selected to participate in the Well-Beans for Caregivers Study
We are delighted to announce that TSA has been selected by the TAND Consortium* to be one of just 3 sites worldwide that will participate in a pilot of the Well-Beans for Caregivers Study, an international research project designed to support parents and family caregivers of people living with TSC. There will be one group in the USA, one in Ireland/UK and one in Australia!
Initial research shows that the wellbeing of caregivers has a marked impact on the person living with TSC. This 3 session program aims to increase the capacity of caregivers and is an adaptation of a successful World Health Organization (WHO) program.
TSA will be looking to recruit a small number of parents/caregivers of people living with TSC (of any age) to participate in the program which will run in November 2025. Participation will involve attending three 2 hour online sessions. Data will be collected before, during and after the sessions. More details about this amazing opportunity will follow very soon. Watch this space!
*The TAND Consortium is a group of stakeholders in the Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC) community brought together by Professor Anna Jansen and Professor Petrus de Vries to address important gaps in Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Associated Neuropsychiatric Disorders (TAND) research. It includes 35 members from 16 countries. The Well-Beans program is being facilitated by Dr Liezl Schlebusch from the University of Cape Town and Dr Lucas Gutiérrez Lafrentz from the University of Antwerp.
