Have your say in the GeneEQUAL study

GeneEQUAL is a new study in NSW looking at how we can provide inclusive genomic healthcare. The first step involves interviews with adults with intellectual disability about their experiences with genetic services, even if that happened when they were a child. This will inform a report for the NSW Department of Health which will identify what additional resources/ training we need to focus on. The study is only open to people who meet the following criteria:

  • 18 years or older
  • living in NSW
  • have experience with genetic counselling and/or testing
  • capacity to consent (using an easy read consent form that the study team will talk interested participants and their carer through)
  • have mild to moderate intellectual disability.

If you or your child meet the criteria and would like to voice your thoughts, you can find out more below or you can view the video by using the QR code on the flyer or by clicking here.
