Will you help raise awareness of TSC this May?

15 May - the biggest date on the TSA calendar, Light the Way Giving Day - is fast approaching. Please join people around Australia and the globe raising awareness and funds to help Light the Way toward a brighter future for everyone living with TSC (Tuberous Sclerosis Complex).

This year, we’re asking you to spread awareness of TSC by hosting a Light the Way celebration. You could light up your doorway, table, home, street, school or workplace to help spark a conversation about TSC and why TSA is important to you.

Please register to become a Light the Way Champion here.

Funds raised will go towards helping us DOUBLE the number of hours the TSA Telehealth Nurse Service is available to the TSC Community to ensure that families and people living with TSC are given the support they need, when they need it.

Together we can Light the Way for everyone living with TSC and their families.

Ethan's story

Ethan Stewart, a 24-year-old musician from Port Macquarie, hasn’t had a single epileptic seizure since joining the BEYOND clinical trial 4 months ago. The trial, run by the University of Newcastle and Hunter New England Health, uses Epidyolex®, a pharmaceutical-grade CBD oil, and has already made a life-changing difference for Ethan, who has lived with seizures caused by TSC since infancy.

Zoom event on everolimus and sirolimus

Many people living with TSC are now prescribed everolimus or sirolimus, which are the mTOR inhibitor treatments. We invite you to this Zoom Information Event on 7 May in which Dr Clara Chung (Clinical Geneticist) and Dr Denise Chan (Paediatric Neurologist) from Sydney Children's Hospital will help us understand more about these life-changing medications.

Hudson

Hudson's mum Katrina first shared their story with TSA when Hudson was just 18 months old. In this update, Katrina tells us more about Hudson and her family’s TSC journey. In the past few years Hudson has had to overcome numerous health challenges, but, Katrina says, “Hudson doesn’t let anything hold him back. He is beautiful, kind, silly, strong and just an all-round good kid.”
