September Zoom Education Events

TSA is offering two zoom education events in September.  These online events are free to TSA members (click here to sign up now if you are not currently a member). But, you MUST REGISTER as places are strictly limited.  Events are expected to run for approx. 60 minutes.

Resilience and living with TSC

Navigating the changes, pressures and uncertainty in our daily lives, as people living with TSC, can often require deep reservoirs of tenacity, optimism and hardiness.  This is even truer with the global coronavirus pandemic as an added factor.
In this session, professional trainer and TSC parent, Rob Rossano will discuss some skills that can help increase our mental toughness and resilience and help us build a positive mindset so that we can better cope with all the uncertainty.
This event is suitable and highly recommended for family members and people living with TSC of all ages.

Identifying and accessing intervention and support for neurodevelopmental disorders in TSC children

Many TSC children may experience neurodevelopmental disorders including attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism, learning disabilities, intellectual disability, conduct disorders and impairments in vision and hearing.
At this event Dr Vanessa Sarkozy, Developmental Paediatrician at Sydney Children’s Hospital will talk about:
  • the surveillance, screening and diagnosis of neurodevelopment disorders in TSC children,
  • optimising access to early intervention and support, and
  • how to plan and access support through the NDIS or community services.
Attendance is highly recommended for parents of young(er) TSC children.
