Correction Our March enewsletter included a media story about a delayed operation. We are now aware that the media story included some inaccuracies. In particular we would like to assure our TSC Community that while tubers/lesions on the brain can cause seizures and that is why they may be removed to treat epilepsy, they are not in themselves life-threatening. In most instances, evaluation for epilepsy surgery is a considered rather than urgent process, gathering the required information to ensure that epilepsy surgery is indicated and can be done safely and successfully. We apologise for any misunderstanding this may have caused. Best wishes, Jackie Gambrell, Chief Executive Office, TSA |
