It was wonderful to have so many of family and friends join us at our annual Lizzie’s Lunch fundraiser on Sunday. It was a fantastic day and we are thrilled to announce over $19,000 was raised to help individuals facing the challenges of life with Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC).
Thank you to everyone who donated prizes, bid on auction items, purchased raffle tickets, joined the mystery wine wall fun and made donations. There were so many great prizes in our auction and raffle this year and our popular mystery wine draw was a sell out again.
It is thanks to the generosity of each of you Tuberous Sclerosis Australia (TSA) can continue its important work of supporting families affected by this devastating disease.
Special thanks to Shireen Doyle who shared her emotional yet hopeful story about her daughter Taylor’s journey with TSC.
Their world was turned upside down when their baby girl began having unstoppable infantile spasms caused by TSC tumours on her brain.
Despite all odds, Taylor has gone on to win two medals: she was a silver medallist at the Rio Paralympics in 2016 and a bronze medallist at the Commonwealth Games this year. Taylor wore her medals proudly and Lizzie’s Lunch guests took great delight in her incredible accomplishments.
Thank you all once again for helping us raise vital funds for people affected by TSC while honouring the memory of Elizabeth Pinkerton. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you need copies of any receipts for your tax returns. For those that couldn’t join us this year, it’s not too late to make a donation to the event.
Don’t forget to mark next year’s Lizzie’s Lunch date in your diary, Sunday 2 June, 2019.
